Maru Continues as Title Sponsor of Lake Runs

Maru will continue as the main sponsor for the Maru Lake Runs next year, a series that takes sports enthusiasts running around Estonian lakes.

The Lake Runs series is supported by Maru Group companies Maru Betoonitööd, Maru Ehitus, and Maru Metall. The main organizer of the race is the Stamina sports club. The partnership with Maru began in 2020, while the Lake Runs will celebrate 25th anniversary next year.

“As the title sponsor, Maru gives the organizers the assurance that lake runners will continue to receive all the services they need,” said Urmo Raiend, head of the Stamina sports club. “It also makes me happy that Maru’s employees actively participate  in the races.”

For Maru, continuing as the name sponsor aligns well with our values, being an opportunity to support a popular and well-organised sports event and healthy lifestyle.

The finale of the 2025 Lake Runs series, the Ülemiste Lake Run, was held on 9th of August. 533 participants ran in the 13.7-kilometre race, with Helen Bell and Leonid Latsepov winning for the third time in a row.

In total, 1,402 runners participated in this year’s Maru Lake Runs, including 179 young people who covered the youth-focused distances. A total of 140 runners and walkers completed all four lake runs, with the oldest born in 1948 and the youngest in 2010. The winner titles of this year’s series were taken by Leonid Latsepov and Bret Schär.

Urmo Raiend noted that he was pleased to see so many top runners participate in the race, while it was also great to have a large number of kids enjoying the activities. Raiend added that the growth in the number of runners is also encouraging: this year saw more unique runners in both the main races and the youth runs. “This instills optimism for the next, 25th-anniversary season,” Raiend said.
